Former LUNA MORTIS Singer Performs TEMPLE OF THE DOG Cover (Video)
October 24, 2012Madison, Wisconsin-based vocalist Mary Zimmer — formerly of the band LUNA MORTIS (originally THE OTTOMAN EMPIRE) — made her long-anticipated return to the stage on Saturday, October 13 at The Frequency in Madison.
Zimmer performed as METAL MARY AND THE HIRED GUNS — a special one-time event with a group of established musicians from the Wisconsin rock and metal scenes.
THE HIRED GUNS are:
Emily Zimmer (FREDDIE LEE BAND) - Guitar
Jon Liedtke (FACE OF RUIN, SHROUD OF DESPONDENCY) - Guitar
Jerry Hauppa (CONCENTRIC, NORTHLESS) - Guitar
Brian Van Wychen (WISFITS, ex-ONUS) - Drums

2010 saw the breakup of the LUNA MORTIS, whose final album, "The Absence", was released via Century Media Records.
Mary's return to the stage was her first major live appearance after the dissolution of the acclaimed Madison metal outfit.
Mary can be heard doing classical/operatic background vocals on the upcoming MOTIONLESS IN WHITE album "Infamous", which is due in November via Fearless Records. The album was produced by Jason Suecof, who was also responsible for production on the final LUNA MORTIS record, "The Absence".
